ClipBot.gg ("ClipBot," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at clipbot.gg and the ClipBot iOS application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information (via Twitch OAuth):

  • Twitch username and user ID
  • Email address associated with your Twitch account
  • Profile image URL
  • Broadcaster type (affiliate, partner, etc.)
  • Twitch access and refresh tokens (used to access your VODs)

Service Usage Data:

  • VOD URLs submitted for processing
  • Generated clip data (video files, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, ratings)
  • Voting activity (upvotes/downvotes on clips)
  • AutoVod preferences and settings

Payment Information:

  • Subscription status and plan type (managed by Stripe)
  • We do NOT store credit card numbers, bank details, or full payment information — all payment processing is handled by Stripe

Discord Information (if connected):

  • Discord user ID (used to send DM notifications)
  • Discord OAuth access token

Automatically Collected:

  • IP address, browser type, device type (via standard web server logs)
  • Pages visited and features used (via Google Analytics)
3. How We Use Your Information
  • Provide the Service: Download your Twitch VODs, generate highlight clips using AI, store and display them
  • Account Management: Authenticate you, manage your subscription, enforce usage limits
  • Notifications: Email you when clips are ready (via SendGrid), send Discord DMs if connected
  • Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, improve clip quality algorithms, fix bugs
  • Community Features: Display your clips on public pages (Discover, Games, Leaderboard, Streamer profiles) with your Twitch username and profile image
4. How We Share Your Information

We do NOT sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Twitch (Amazon): To authenticate your account and access your VODs via the Twitch API
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): To store clip videos and thumbnails on S3, host our infrastructure
  • OpenAI: To analyze transcripts and generate clip metadata (transcript text is sent for AI analysis — no personal information is included)
  • Stripe: To process subscription payments
  • SendGrid: To send email notifications
  • Discord: To send DM notifications (only if you connect your Discord account)
  • Google Analytics: To understand usage patterns (anonymized)
5. Public Information

The following information is publicly visible on ClipBot.gg:

  • Your Twitch username and profile image
  • Your generated clips (video, title, description, rating)
  • Your streamer profile page
  • Your position on leaderboards

Clips generated from your VODs are displayed publicly on the Discover feed, Game pages, and your Streamer profile. If you do not want clips to be public, please contact us to discuss removal.

6. Data Storage and Security
  • Data is stored on AWS infrastructure (us-west-2 region)
  • Clip videos and thumbnails are stored on Amazon S3
  • Database is hosted on Amazon RDS (MySQL)
  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit
  • Twitch tokens are stored in our database to maintain your session — they are not shared with third parties
7. Data Retention
  • Account data is retained as long as your account exists
  • Generated clips are retained indefinitely on S3
  • VOD audio files are deleted immediately after processing
  • Processing logs are retained for 30 days for debugging
8. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access: View your data via your ClipBot dashboard and profile
  • Delete: Request account deletion by contacting us at hello@clipbot.gg — we will delete your account, personal data, and generated clips
  • Disconnect: Remove Discord integration at any time from the Discord settings page
  • Opt out: Disable AutoVod to stop automatic VOD processing
9. Children's Privacy

ClipBot is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@clipbot.gg.

10. Third-Party Links

Our Service contains links to Twitch, Discord, and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
